The topic of this posting is deviation.

It is very interesting topic. So when I read this posting, I could know about a deviation is an interesting word.

Deviation means that any behavior that violates cultural norms. And deviance is often divided into two types. Type one is crime. Crime is the violation of formally enacted laws and it is called formal deviance like robbery, theft, rape, murder, assault. And second type is violations of informal social norms. It depends on the culture. For example if I do certain behavior, in culture A it can be deviation, culture B it is common behavior. And it is called informal deviance.

I could know about Theories of Deviance. Examples of Theories of Deviance, Social-Strain Typology, Structural-Functionalism, Conflict Theory, Labeling Theory.

Crime Statistics is the most interesting part of this article. Read this part I know the several Figures of deviations. The most interesting graph is comparing incarceration rates by countries. Because the graph is different as I expected that comparing incarceration rates by countries
