In Definition
of deviance, deviance is any behavior that violates cultural norms. Deviance divided
into two types of deviant activities, formal deviance
and informal deviance. Formal deviance is crime.
Crime is the violation of formally enacted laws. And informal deviance is violations of informal social
norms. Informal deviance is a relatively.
In Theories of
Deviance, There are many theories about
a deviation. For example Social-Strain Typology,
Structural-Functionalism, Conflict Theory, Labeling Theory.
Social-Strain Typology was created by Robert K. Merton. It is divided into five, conformity, innovation, ritualism, retreatism, rebellion.
Structural-Functionalism
is well known theory. Structural-functionalist
approach to deviance argues that deviant behavior plays an important role in
society. Conflict Theory is the opposite of Structural-Functionalism.
Conflict Theory is more Aggressive more critical
than structural-Functionalism.
Labeling Theory refers to the
idea that individuals become deviant when two things occur. One, a deviant
label is applied to them. Another one is that they adopt the label by
exhibiting the behaviors, actions, and attitudes associated with the label.
In Crime Statistics, I could see many graph that crime. The graph the most
interesting is homicide rates (per
100,00 people) for Select Countries, 2012. Saw this graph, i think the relationship between Socialization and deviation.
In Social Control, Social Control divided into two types like a deviance
that formal social control and informal social control. Formal
social control
refers to components of
society that are designed for the resocialization of individuals who break
formal rules. And informal social control refers to elements of society that are designed to
reinforce informal cultural norms.
In Current Research, there are classified as three. 1. Video Games and Deviance 2. Tattoos 3. Sexual
Violence on College Campuses

about relationship between Socialization and deviation?
I think that there exists a clear relationship between socialization and deviation.
ReplyDeletePeople who are not made properly socialized is poor adaptability to society and it can lead to deviant behavior and hostility to society.
That is why it made the correct socialization at the right time is important to stave off a deviation.
Socialization has important role in deviation. People have important time that determine person's personality. So if child grows in wrong environment, he has possibility to be deviant adult.
