Deviance is any behavior that violates cultural norms.There are two types of diviance: formal deviance,informal deviance.
Formmal deviance violates crime that the violation of formally enacted laws.
informal deviance violates informal social norms that have not been codified into law
And deviance has a variety of theories.
First is psychologist explanation. this explains that the brain structure made in childhood
cause the dviance. And another theory is structural-functionalism.
this theory argues that deviant behavior plays an important role in society for several reasons
And then conflict theory.Because of lacking the physical resources necessary to survive,
the people do deviance. And the last theory is labeling theory.
Labeling Theory refers to the idea that individuals become deviant when two things occur:
1.a deviant label is applied to them
2.they adopt the label by exhibiting the behaviors, actions, and attitudes associated with the label.
This approach to deviance recognizes its cultural relativity and is aware that deviance can result from power imbalances.

First of all, I surprised that the deviance has a relation with sociology.And I also surprised that the deviance has important role in sociey, structure-functionalism. because of alarming the people. I think it is just excuse. it's just rationalization. There are many way of alarming people except deviance.

I want to know exactly criteria about informal deviance.What is the criteria of deviance in legal?
It differ as culture.
