First, I think religion functions knowing human's existence. Human are always curious about self-existence. In history, we have constantly studied human's existence. Human solve these problem through religion. For example, the doctrine of creation.
And, religion functions social integration. Religion is awakened from a human morality. So, religion prevents from occuring the deviation from society. Also, this prevent from occuring serious social problem and help achieve social integration.
Religion has economic function. There is a job caused by religion. For example, a pastor, a monk. They can be difficult to say, but They are a kind of job. Also, from religious broadcasting, religious ceremony and so on, there are many the movement of capital. Therefore, religion can be part of the economy.
Besides, religion function "social control" and "healing".
