Introduction to Sociology : stratification

-Through my perspective.

Prologue

In general, people naturally it will have a certain social and economic characteristics in the society, they belong to a height thereby arise between the people it is called stratification.
Theory to analyze the social stratification has typically functional theory and conflict theory.
In functional theory, hierarchy is a phenomenon that arises in accordance with the agreement of the members of society. And it believe that class can vary depending on their own efforts. On the other hand, conflict theory argues that it can not by individual effort vary class. Social elite class should continue developing stratification in order to not lose their strength.
My thought is that it sees the current situation in the Republic of Korea, more appropriately conflict theory.

My thoughts about stratification

South Korea has a proverb saying that "A dragon rises from the ditch". This same "A rags to riches story". In the past, this was a very useful adage but now it is not used.
In other words, now the Republic of Korea hierarchical society can not be moved to the personal efforts.  Freshman of Seoul National University in 2013 special-purpose high school student accounted for 82%.
Today, South Korea has been turned into rewards and achievements that are determined according to the social and economic background of the parents regardless of personal ability and effort. Economic polarization is becoming increasingly going to the extreme.
In addition, the hereditary economic leads to hereditary inequality.
I want to suggest “education” as a way to solve these inequalities.
The start accruing while enrolled in kindergarten inequality of educational opportunity
College enrollment of the Republic of Korea is the world's highest level ,but college tuition is also very high among OECD countries. So while low-income children do not go college because they undergo lack of tuition The State has an obligation that will ensure the education of these students. States should actively support educational opportunities for eliminating inequalities. Which prevents inheritance of poverty through equality of opportunity, we will also make efforts to solve the problem income polarization.
Eliminate inequalities in education does not stop at economic inequalities resolved.
Furthermore, this resolve other social inequalities and this make a significant contribution to stabilizing the society.
How do you think about this solution?

  1. I think that if we solve inequality problem. Our society do positive welfare. This welfare mean If two same poor people, the more work people, the more get welfare expense. So we do this. we can more effective:)
