<Stratification>
I will tell you the definition of two words first. Stratification is a layered classification of people. And the inequality is that people have access to the scarce and valued resources value.
Marrx Weder said three dimensions of stratification which are class, status, and party. He reflected power, property, and prestige to measure SES.
In hunter/gather societies, there was nothing individual property concept. However, People have acquired personal property since they settled in one place. And then there was an inequality.
Sociologist Joel Charon said the reason why inequalities persist in society. People in high places want to keep their position with inequality. And people think their positions can change through education and effort.
I was interested in global inequality. Deveolopment, modernization, dependency, world systems theory, the new international division of labor theory are theories which are offered by socialogist. Especially the Development and modernization is the most interest sector to me. It means that the poor nations become wealthy nations through modernization. but I doubt that why the poor should follow the rich nations way. Was the only way they developed was right? I got this question to read this part.
I agree your thought. Why should follow the way the development of advanced countries, developing countries? I guess, there is a success story but can look that safe. But I do not think right way. When they find a new approach to development. Don’t you think so?
