#Summary

Stratification is social ranked order through inequality of scarce resource, religion,.. and so on.
Max weber who one of the intersted in these inequalities defines stratification to three sections.
They are class, status, party.
Stratification is occured by use of socioeconomic status like wealth, occupational prestige reflecting power and so on.
In horticultural/pastoralist societies, humans settled down in one place and groups grew to be large. And distribution of labor made add of productions. Also, private property flourish in the late 15c in Europe and spreading out, three ideas be equality in 17c~18c by Hobbes and Locke.

In inequality, two approaches are consist. They are Structural-Functionalism, Conflict Theory.
According to first theory, strtification and inequalities are inevitable and beneficial to society. However, the other theory suggest that stratification is dysfunctional in society.

#Mention
It is very interesting to me that stratification change through period. Also, it is interesting too that in inequality, two classic approaches are consist.It is amazing in the way that people consider two theory are contrary.

#Question
I guess that inequality in everyday iife our korean university student.

  1. We discriminate without intention. For example, students respect the high grade students and ignore the lower grades students. This is also layered invisible in college.
