First week: What is sociology?

What is sociology?

When I was seventeen tears old, sociology was very interesting subject. So, I entered Hanyang information society university. But I’m just starting university, I don’t know sociology exactly. I’m confused. However I have Peter class and I read link that Peter make me do homework. I know sociology a little bit. First link that Peter hands over homework say about meaning of sociology. First link deals with history of sociology, sociological studies. And second link deals with sociology major, bachelor's degree occupations. The most interesting thing that I read is skill and role of sociology of trained university graduates. Sociology of traind university graduates have many roles and skills. Sociology students may have the ability to recognize the trend or pattern of data collection, a concise report, or ability to write an essay, powerful oral presentation skills, powerful, critical thinking skills. interpersonal communication skills. This skills are what person is required in society and what I need. And another interesting thing is relation of sociology and science. In ancient philosophy, sociology is similar to science. But sociology is more complex proposition If predicting human behavior. This is different from science. 

 

As I read this article, I really know sociology. And I know exact sociology and sociology is used for a wide range of options. I’m interested in Piotr Konieczny professor’s class. But This class is in English, so I sometimes don’t understand contents of a class. This make me crazy. However I'm experiencing fresh class. So, I really expect next class.
