Summary:
Sociology is the study of social phenomena through a variety of topics and research methods. Sociology emerged in the 19th century. Emile Durkheim and numerous sociologists establish the principles of sociology and made many efforts to develop sociology. initial of sociology placed a differentiator from other disciplines by utilizing the natural scientific research. There was a debate about the quality of sociology and the quantity of sociology. However, the ultimate goal of both was to extend the method to prove the theory from science to society. Sociology focus on the humanities, unlike other social sciences.
I learned through this material about the definition of sociology and what is the goal of sociology. From the history of sociology to the present sociology, It was good to be able to understand the overall flow of sociology.

Summary:
The majority of sociology majors are young white women. And most of the sociology majors are satisfied with the qualitative aspects of sociological study.
Sociology majors have the ability to read the flow of age and critical thinking. So they can exert its power in a number of industries, including businesses, non-governmental organizations. In addition, they can also continue to concentrate on studying sociology.
I have not yet designed a specific career after majoring in sociology.
But through this data I learned about the strong point of the people who received a degree in sociology and the career field which they can work.
discussion:
Most of the sociology majors is concentrated in a particular race, a particular age, a particular gender. Such concentration phenomenon may be creating a one-sided sociological research.
I watched reference "what is sociology?" that you linked. With cute pictures and writings, video was fun and easy to understand :) Though it could not explain all aspects of sociology, but it was helpful.
ReplyDeleteand..I am curious about your question, too.
I think in the future, many people get interested in sociology. As society is constantly changing, people must follow trends to live life. Not only sociologists, in the future, I guess many people want to know about sociology.
Thank you for commment.
DeleteI agree with you that future sociology will going to be popular.
and it is expected to be the interest in sociology led to interest in social issues. if so, the movement to solve social problems will be increase.
In W2, you said "concentration phenomenon may be creating a one-sided sociological research. But in W1 link, I read about sociologist's attitude. They have to exclude their thoughts or emotion. Concentration to one topic will make profound results.
