Summary)

Culture

Culture is a production of human beings’ evolution (anthropologist say this is not a simple production but human’s adaption about natural world). Evolution of human beings create notion of culture. Through evolution, human has been able to communicate experience (or accumulation of evolution) with each other by symbolically. Result from this symbolically and encoded communication, human has been able to develop independent culture. Viewed in this way, it is thought as interact is difficult among different culture. But the element of culture can easily spread from people of one culture to other culture’s people.

Culture is different from society. But this distinction is artificial. Human cannot experience culture distinct from society. Clearly differences exist between culture and society, this is usefully used in any research.

In one society, there is popular culture that manage society but also there is subculture that is enjoyed by few people and there is counterculture that oppose popular culture. Also there is ethnocentrism, ignore culture excluding ‘our’ culture, and cultural relativism, respect other culture.

Many theory about culture are existing, a good theory is devised by Ritzer. In this theory, Ritzer classify culture into four high element: macro-objective component, micro-objective component, macro-subjective component, micro-subjective component.

 

Religion

The definition is very important in any religious research. In religious research, three definitions are existing: Sacred or Profane, Religion as Existential Questioning, Religion as supernature.

There are so many theories to explain religion. This theories have been used to explain the function of religion in society, the role of religion in the life of the individual, the nature (and origin) of religion.

In the world, there are many religions. This religions affect society that believe this religion: gender, race, class, education, hearth

I don’t know that Islam derive form Christianity and Judaism. But, nevertheless Islam derive form Christianity and Judaism, why Islam is violent? Commonly Christianity and Judaism have good and peaceful and tolerant image. But what do Islam has? Violent, exclude other religion. I think, maybe, excessive limits made their violent.

I think long-long ago, cultural is almost no difference. So, I wonder when cultural difference create.
