MAIN TOPIC : What is Sociology?

1_ my feeling about first week lecture.
Before I heard this lecture, I think Sociology is just studying about society or human beings. But now, I know that Sociology is more than my thought.
With the first week lecture, my feeling about Sociology is changed. I just thought Sociology could be little bit boring, because maybe it will be something obvious. Professor Piotr said that definition of Sociology is various, and also there is no perfect answer. With this mention, I got interest about Sociology. So now I have new idea about Sociology and I will study Sociology without prejudice.
2_ What I learned with first week Wikipedia links in syllabus.
Like I wrote above, my idea about Sociology was simple. But actually, Sociology is widespread subject matter. Sociology can include many thing than I imagined. And I was surprised that there are many branches in Sociology such as quantitative sociology, qualitative Sociology. With these, I think it will mean everyone see society in each view, and every view will be our own Sociology.And I heard about 'social imagination' in first time. When I just read this word, I couldn't even expect the meaning. I think I ain't fully understanding the meaning till now. I found definition about social imagination to improve my understand, so now I think with social imagination, we can see society with sympathy. It makes us to think about how other people who are different from ourselves will live in this society.

Also, I can learn that there are many jobs which we can use our major, Sociology. I thought that who major in Sociology could be just a sociologist, or sociology teacher, or researcher and so on. While studying Sociology harder, I will design my life after graduate. Maybe my future job will be associated with Sociology, and I will be satisfied with my job in light of that aspect.
3_Question about this week study.
I wonder how other classmates think and understand about social imagination. Please tell me so I can understand it better! Additionally, I wonder a difference between the social society and the society.Thanks for reading my posting : )
