First Summary, Opinion and Question
I received about the sociological method how to inquiry and be those related to some of the sociological theory.
For information about how to analyze the society.
I Know Quantitative methods and Qualitative methods.
because I learned them in high school Sociology class. Sociology is so amazing. When you make a research, that have two methods.
Quantitative methods gather data like Science. Qualitative methods interested in how to act people, how to happen the situation and how to depict people.
My sociological memory returns! Also I felt attractive sociologist who analyze the social data and are determining the direction of research.
But Here, I have a question. The research about the society is distinct from science. Probably, The researcher has a subjective thinking in social data.
How can we investigate accurate sociology?
Second Summary, Opinion and Question
It is a theory of sociology. After I read this Information.
In sociology, I found that the social hypothesis is important.
And I know first time about structural-functionalism. Structural-functionalism Method of sociological research on social organization. there is a remaining theory to most memorial the upcoming this material. That is manifest function and latent function. manifest function means the intended function in society. latent means the hidden function but couldn’t recognized by the participants. In order to easily understand this theory, I thought one example.
That is ‘기우제’. 기우제’s manifest function is Ritual for rain in Chosun dynasty. but also latent function is strengthening of royal authority.
I was so interested today because I studied sociology for the first time in a long time.
(The Picture says about african shaman and rain-maker in his-her ritual costume.)
