Summary
Sociologists use positivism(empricism) approach, which is quantitative and verstehen approach, which is qualitative to study society and phenomena.Both of methods use scientific methods such as charcterization, hypothesis, prediction and testing.
Quantitative methods need operationlization which allows things to be measured in numbers or use mathematical methods however, Qualitative methods focus on intuition of human and experiences.
In investigating, ethical parts are significant for sociologists because objects of sociology research is human.
Interesting parts
'Peer review' in evaluation and iteration part is new. In constantly changing society, correct hypothesis can change into incorrect,invalid hypothesis due to new discovered evidences from new research. I think peer review is effective ways to evaluate and also by peer review, sociologists one another can keep constructive relationships and complemenatry relationships.Questions&Discussions
