1)my feeling about w1,w2 wikipedia link.

 

Like the first link, The second link talk about a lot of many thing about sociology. In Week 1, we talked about examples of sociological research methods and classification, the future of sociologists. This Week 2 seems to go in more detail than one week.

 

2) The best memorable content in Week2.

First, there are countless knowledge in the world. The world develope more and more, comprehensive and in-depth knowledge are emerging. Now, Knowledge is become money and property. And Knowledge is not owned by a particular group. Everyone can be owned Knowledge. Internet, SNS development is made everyone easily accessible to knowledge. (In other words, Equality of access.) Week 2 introduces how to obtain the knowledge. There are many ways that acquire knowledge; media, family, friends, teachers, etc. There is also a way to realize themselves through the experience without learning someone. I expect that Through the acquisition of knowledge human race has evolving continuously.

 

Secondly, The last week has introduced qualitative research methods and quantitative research methods research methods. But this week will go into more depth. I know about the research process. The first process of research is set the hypothesis. At this time, the hypothesis is made as dependent and independent variables. Also, Set up the relationship correctly between dependent variables and independent variables. After setting the hypotheses, Researchers start experiments to test the hypothesis. And next if this hypotheses were correct test, Hypothesis would accept. Conversely, This hypothesis is dismissed. I think, The most important thing in the research process is objectivity. Researchers are experimenting with a lack of objectivity. Because they are also people. However, in order to test the hypothesis and derive a theory, objectivity is a very important factor.

 

Finally, An introduction about the viewpoint to see the world. There are Several theories, but I will introduce more carefully in the three kinds of theories. The first is Functionalism. The most important thing in Functionalism is safety. They think that Society is stable and strive to maintain a stable state. And organization performs the function of each society very well. Also organization strive to achieve a balance. Meanwhile, The opposite of Functionalism is Conflict Theory. Conflict Theory see the social been inequality. Finally, there is the Symbolic Interactionism. The key words of this theory is the interaction between people. People all have the respective meanings, and do interaction endlessly. The example, to compare all of this Theory, is education. but I'm trying to think of another case. I thought about the wage gap between a lawyer and a janitor.

In Functionalism aspect, Its cause is that Lawyers are more commit and invest more time than a janitor. So they think inequality is deserve thing. However, Conflict Theory think these inequality is unfair.

 

I learned that there are so many theories looking at the world. To understand this more deeply, I will cultivate a variety of perspectives.
