1_My feeling about second week lecture.

 This week, we talked about many questions in lecture. I feel so interesting about that. While I was thinking about the answers to those questions, I felt I got close to Sociology. And It was also a good thing that I can have other friends idea which is different from mine about the same question.
 With those questions, we can think many aspects to get answer such as economy, traditional culture, characteristic of a man, and so on. Maybe it means Sociology is a very broad discipline which encompasses various field. This might be the cause of 'Sociology major can have various job.' I might think more about what I could be after graduate!!

2_What I learned with third week Wikipedia links.

▶Culture

 Simply speaking, Culture is difference between nature(biology) and nurturing environment. We need culture, because we shape our identities in the culture.
 High culture is the concept which think culture as civilization. But culture have been changing. During the Romantic Era, definition of culture become wider.
 There are many subcultures in the world. Subcultures means a culture which a part of people share. And under the subcultures, there is counterculture. Counterculture means a culture which disagree with main culture's belief, values, and so on. Maybe we share a subculture that learn sociology!
 One thing which I was surprised at is that culture is an artificial categorization. I never thought about that notion. I also get impression about saying culture and society as a two-sides of a coin that makes up social life.

▶Religion

  The purpose of studying religion is to understand religions. To study religion, we should define the concept of religion.  It determine which group of people will include in study. Emile Durkheim provided the most popular definition of religion. He suggested that definition of religion depended on the difference between sacred things and profane things.
 Before I read this wiki links, I have been never thought that there are theories of religion. Those theories try to explain religion with 3 different aspects : the function of religion in society, the role of religion in the life of the individual, and the nature(origin) of religion.
 There are structural-functional approach, social-conflict approach, social constructionist approach, religious pluralism, and social-psychological approach. One approach which gave me impression was social-psychological approach. With this theory, fear is a factor in religious conversation. Fear make people to rely on religion. And religion provide a goal and purpose in live.

3_Question about week 3 study.

 I wonder why the concept of culture have been changed! I guess it is because the society is changed. If the society(the environment where we live)is changed, our way of thinking might be changed, and it bring the different concept of culture. I want to hear other classmates' idea.
