1. # Definition of Family
Usually, the definition of the family we think of is as follows.
(1) a common ancestor, (2) marriage, (3) adoption, or (4) some other committed (romantic or otherwise) relationship
There are various types of families in culture around the world.
One of the most common forms is that one spouse has a mate.
It is a monogamy.
A variety of other family structures exist.
One example of this is polygamy. Polygamy means a form of marriage with more than one spouse having two or more spouses.

2. # Family and Theory
The two main functions of the family are, first, social reproduction of socialization.
Second, it maintains society through biological birth.
From the point of view of the children, the role of the family is important.
So the role of parents is important.
This is because parents‘s role greatly influences the socialization of the child.
Marriage between siblings in almost every society is forbidden.
However, the ancient Egyptians, the Incas, were rarely seen as exceptions.
Such these incest taboo may serve to promote social solidarity.
3. # Cohabitation
Cohabitation is an intimate relationship with a common living space but without legal sanctions.
Cohabitation is similar to marriage, but it is different from marriage.
Cohabitation includes almost all of ages.
However, it is usually comprised of between 25 and 34 couples.
The reason why we cohabitation is as follows:
First, to test compatibility or establish financial stability before marriage.
Second, to avoid divorce, we must live together before marriage.
Third, it is possible for gays to live together when they can not have a legal marriage.
2. My opinion
This week, the topic family was interesting to me.
I was simply thinking of the definition of a family.
But than my thinking, the family functions were more complex and meaningful.
Also, the part about cohabitation was interesting.
In the past, our society did not have the concept of cohabitation.
However, there are frequent cohabitation in modern society.
Also, it was interesting to see the increasing number of people thinking positively about cohabitation.
It seems to be representative of our changing society.
