Introduction to Sociology : Collective behavior and Social movement
-Through my perspective.
Prologue
Collective behavior is the act of people in the group and the crowd, and is a sociological concept that broadly refers to the phenomenon of unstructured or organized movement. Examples of this are panic, religious ecstasy, boom, public formation and canard spread, organizational movements in all spheres of society, and revolution.
Social movements are actions that are carried out continuously as a group for the transformation of society and the resolution of social problems. Although it contains a very wide variety of forms and organizational behavior, social movements have become interconnected and complemented by the progress of modern society. There is a tendency to go with more person towards the common goal as well as to each goal and to achieve realistic performance.
My thoughts about social movement
I thought that collective behavior could be organized and targeted, leading to social movement. Social movements lead to positive changes that can reform the absurd side of society. A representative example of this social movement is the 3.1 movement.
On March 3, 1919, the event was held for the independence of Korea in line with the Gojong funeral. 33 representatives read the Declaration of Independence, students and citizens developed independence movements in the park . Movement spread to all parts of the country, but failed with strong repression in Japan. However, the 3.1 movement had a great impact not only on Korea but also on neighboring countries. The rule of the saber, the Japanese colonial policy of the 1910s, turned into cultural politics. In recognition of the necessity of organizing the independence movement, a provisional government of the Republic of Korea was established. 3.1 movement is the first peaceful demonstration in the world and it is a movement in which national consciousness is inspired by participation of all classes. With this steady effort, we were able to extricate the domination of Japan. Social movements are voluntary and autonomous group acts that either offer specific alternatives that they believe can contribute to the public interest, or enlighten other citizens to eliminate and pressure policies, systems, and practices that are thought to be harmful to the public interest .Therefore, it contributes to make our society better.

Qustion
The Gwanghwamun demonstration, which has been a huge issue these days, has the same purpose.A massive candlelight assembly for citizen urge resignation of President Park Geun-hye in Seoul Gwanghwamun Square was gathered by a million citizens. It is a voluntary gathering of the people so that the government can correct the mistakes and take responsibility. It is a peaceful demonstration that has not caused a major accident despite the gathering of a large crowd. Despite the enormous number of participants, I was amazed at the Korean citizenship, which has continued to demonstrate peacefully. I also participated in the demonstration because I could not keep watching. I think that by doing this social movement, we can rectify social corruption and achieve a more developed society. The sound of the people gathering can be changed into a society we want.
What do you think about these social movements?
-Photos I took at the demonstration
I think these social movements are very good.
ReplyDeleteWe think past demonstration are violence and force demonstration.
But despite over a million people attend this demonstration, no one hurt and be injured.
This demonstration show mature civic awareness and clear national character.
So, I think this demonstration is perfect demonstration.
I agree much with you.
ReplyDeleteCandlelight rally in every saturday is to show the public's voice to government that continuously walk away the wrong way.
I also amazed much like you.
Although Korea society is full of corruption, through these social movements I feel that spirit of the public is alive.
If the government sustains attention that don't heard the public's voice like now, the public's voice will be more and more higher.
But, if so, I am afraid that peaceful social movements that sustain well till now change violent aspect.
I hope the government heard the public's voices and behave the behavior corresponding them before it.

I think that this social movement is an essential and important movement in the current Korean situation.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, the corrupt government in South Korea does not try to correct mistakes unless the people act.
We have to make a claim for what we are upset with and how we want to solve the problem, and make a country that we want.
