Thirteen week posting: Family and Aging

1) summary

Today, I read family and aging article and I summarize it. We might define family simply. But maybe defining family is very difficult problem. Maybe We know adopted child and pet into the family, or maybe we don’t know adopted child and pet into the family. Defining family is changing as the culture change and as the time has gone on. And family’s function is various. procreative families reproduce society, educate their children, play a role in socialization and have special privileges and rights. The family life cycle is courtship, marriage, children, divorce, death and widowing. And in family, inequality exist. In gender, women experience inequality and as time has gone on, This problem improve more and more. In race and ethnicity, slavery marriage exist. In religion, many religion have their religious ceremony. In modern society, there are new developments in families. one parent households, cohabitation, same sex unions, childfree.

Aging is both biological and sociological. Human go through infancy, toddler, childhood, adolescence, young adult, prime adulthood, middle age, old age. Human have many experience and old people have socialization than young people.

Today, I read family and aging article. This time is very benefit for me. Specially, Family article is interesting to me. We think family very easily. But family is very important to society and on the one hand, defining family is very difficult to us. I think we can define family. If dog or cat live our house and we think they are friendly, we think dog or cat in family. And in modern society, some countries admit homosexuality.
