1. SUMMARY

#THE CAUSE OF WAR

There are many theorists who try to explain why war occur though when most people do not want occurring of war. Here, there are some explains of theorists.

 Historians – Historian tend to be avoid look for outright explanations about all wars. And they believe that there are some conditions of wars but have hard in predicting when, where wars will occur.

 Psychological theories - Durban and John Bowlby who Psychologist suggest men are inherently violent. This violence is expressed though war. Some psychologists have said that war occur when mentally unbalanced men are in control of a nation.
 Anthropological theories - Anthropological theorists see that people learn about war and war occur by nurture. People learn each other things depending on religion, ideology and so on. Also they see no links between many forms of violence.
 Sociological theories – Sociological theorists are interested in the origins of war. They have been tried to predict occurring of war.
 Information theories – Information theorists argued that occurring of war is based on a lack of information. If both sides knew the result of war, they won’t fight and the loser will surrender.
 Economic theories – Economic theorists argue that war occur because of pursuit of natural resources and wealth.
 Marxist theories – They see war as free market and class system that will not disappear until the world revolution occurs.

#CONFLICT THEORY

 

There are some of assumptions of modern Conflict Theory.

Interaction cause conflict, Changes are inevitable in society, Competition – Lack of resources causes conflict, Structural Inequality - Inequality in power and rewards is built in all social structures, Degree of Inequality – Hierarchies exist, Revolution – Macro changes and Revolution occur as a result of conflict rather than adaptation.

There are key terms of conflict theory.: Class conflict, ideologies, ideology, social class, Deviance, Proleteriat, Bourgeoisie, Capitalism
Many sociologists who support conflict theory have described propositions using above assumptions and key terms. Many philosophers believed that conflict was necessary part of society.
In modern examples of conflict theory, there are social stratification, wealth and power inequality, drug abuse and crime.  

2.MENTION AND QUESTION

Before, I  thinked that war only occur by wealth, resources or territory or religion. After I read reading materials, I know more theory about the causes of war. Many theories are very interesting. Especially, I interested in Pychological Theory. I think this theory is very valid as Economic theory.
About conflict theory, I know many knowledges because I deeply learn about conflict theory when I was high school student.
