I think modern world has become more peaceful than in the past.
The past society was very unstable because of the threat of war, epidemics, discrimination, and power struggles. In this environment, most people would not feel peace. However, in modern society, all of these fears have been resolved to some extent. War has begun to be restrained, medical technology is constantly evolving, and we can peacefully protest against discrimination and corruption. This means that the value of peace that our society aims to reflect in modern society. Therefore, our society has the possibility of becoming more peaceful.

Contradiction

I do not think the modern world has become more peaceful than in the past.
It is clear that we live a more stable life than in the past. However, since Korea is still in the state of truce, war can happen at any time in here. In addition, there is a growing movement to check the US economically and militarily around the world (like Russia, China). Also, Corruption has not yet disappeared and is parasitic to society, and the benefits of technology are unequally restored only to developed countries.So, I think that the world we live in now can feel peace only superficially.
