Summary
Demography studies about size, structure, distribution and migration, change of population. And its object is whole societies or smaller groups. Demography is almost numerical, and it is used helpfully to explain sociological phenomenon because it use demographic indicators. Demographic indicators continue to change by more accurate data and measurement techniques, but it still useful, and should be considered firstly as explanations.

Opinion
I think today, most characteristics of overpopulation can solve.
Lack of food : today, food production is increasing. There are enough food as much as we can support all population.
Insufficient arable land : agricultural technology developed, so we can supply food.
Lower life expectancies : because of developed medical technology, we can solve this problem. All the more, today’s life expectancies is high too much. It needs to come back to appropriate levels.
Lower levels of literacy : There is compulsory education in most countries. many people can learn enough.
Higher rates of unemployment in urban, child poverty, increased crime rate for survive : these is also serious problems In the today, underpopulation situation. I think it can be solved through system of social safety nets.
I believe that almost matters of overpopulation can be solved, and problems of overpopulation phenomena are more easy to settle than underpopulation things.

Question
In korea(and many other countries), many childbirth encouragement policies are implemented, But Still birth rate is not increasing and underpopulation is serious. What do you think is most necessary for increasing birth rate and fundamental solution of underpopulation?

  1. I think welfare policy should be the priority. Korea is an environment where women are unable to work together with having baby and childcare. It is expected that the birth rate will increase if mothers have a good environment for nurturing children.

  3. As a member of society, we must be educated and aware that population problems are a direct problem to ourselves.
It is a reality that Korea can not let such a problem be left as it approaches the population shortage and the aging society.
I think it is important to emphasize demography in the sociology category since childhood.

  4. To increase the birth rate in Korea, the present birth incentive policy should be strengthened.
In Korea, there are a lot of dual-earner couples and they are in a very difficult environment to take care of their children while they work.
There are many deficiencies in Korea's maternity promotion policy in order to actually help them.
Even if you have a maternity leave policy, there are many places that have an in-house atmosphere that will give you a sense of when you really want to use it. It is especially worse for the father of the child.
In countries, it is necessary to reduce the use of foster care facilities, make more vacations, and create an environment that does not need to be noticed when using maternity leave.
